It passed the Ministry of Railway’s technology appraisal with leading domestic level in 1996. It is suitable for the catenary construction, inspection and repair, and installation. It can also serve as a tow car.

The model TY270 Tow tunnel car is a kind of diesel tractor working with TBMT Tunnel Digger and is applicable for tunnel construction and tractive working in the factory and mine. It has ideal tractive performance, steady starting, quickly speed up, little shift stroke since it adopts advanced hydraulic-mechanical transmission box. The engine adopts turbine supercharger, inter cooling, emission filter to construction and closed space.
